Shakespeare in the Park: The History, The Plays, The Wonder
The Shakespeare in the Park performance calendar begins on June 6 and continues throughout July 30 with all performances beginning at 8 p.m. The productions are going to be held in the beautiful Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
Shakespeare in the Park is produced by The Public Theater and has continued the celebration of Shakespeare's projects since it began in 1954. The success of previous summer's productions have continued to encourage even more amazing performances year and year again. The Shakespeare in the Park atmosphere features one of New York City's most beloved summer traditions, offering exceptional entertainment for natives and visitors alike.
Featured Plays for 2011
The two plays that are to be featured at the 2011 Shakespeare in the Park productions are Measure For Measure, and All's Well that Ends Well. Measure for measure is known as "Shakespeare at his grittiest", a glimpse of what happens when those in power allow human impulse to take control.
All's Well That Ends Well is said to be "a fairytale for grown-ups" and is a story to overcoming obstacles to win love. If you're interested in an unique entertainment experience, check out Shakespeare in the Park, an event for family members and friends alike.
